Answers to some common questions

 

Q: What’s it made of, does it have any polystyrene in it?

A: CSR Hebel is made of a mixture of sand ,cement, lime and an aerating agent.  Absolutely no polystyrene is in the product.


Q: How do you cut it?

A: Blocks can be cut quite easily with a standard course tooth hand saw.  The panels (which are steel reinforced) can be cut with a 9 ¼ inch circular saw with a composite metal cutting disc or diamond blade.


Q: Can you use Hebel for retaining walls?

A: Hebel, unfortunately is NOT to be used for retaining as it has poor tensile strength and is too light.


Q: Can you get it in any other colours?

A: The standard Hebel mix produces the OFF WHITE colour common to blocks and panels in general.  However in the Handi range, coloured blocks and panels have been produced to have them easily recognized.


Q: What do you finish Hebel with?

A: A wide range of proprietary products are available in the market, most products suited for masonry applications are suited to Hebel.


Q: Do you have to treat it?

A: Hebel can be sealed or painted using any standard products on the market suited for masonry application.
